Mid-Century Etruscan Revival Large Garnet and Pearl Pendant Brooch in 14k Yellow Gold

This magnificent piece has tremendous detail and excellent craftsmanship. The piece features a center medallion of round garnets wrapped in seed pearls. The garnets are flaming red and fiery. There are nine which total approximately 2.70ctw (approx. 4mm ea). The center medallion is framed by a series of chubby crescent moods which each feature a pearl inside them and between them. The moons are wrapped with twisted rope detail and have additional features inside. The piece can be worn as a pendant or a brooch, as the bail swivels and folds down completely behind one of the moons. Including the bail the piece measures 1 3/4" and is 1 3/8" across in diameter. The piece is crafted in solid 14k yellow gold (stamped several places) and weighs a hefty 14.06g.
