The outside edges are faceted, which is quite unusual. The center of the locket features intricate wirework and seed pearls, on a sightly concave background whose colors are formed from heat from a jeweler's torch and copper/silver rich alloys. The locket opens with a hinge on the left, revealing plenty of space for photos or a memento. The locket is inscribed on the back, reading the letters S B and A we think. What do you see? Including the bail the locket measures just over 1 7/8" in length and it is 1" across. The locket is crafted in 14k in a very rosy gold and weighs 11.83g. Chains are available as a separate purchase.

 Probably the most intricate we've seen, this Etruscan revival style diamond locket is an incredible piece of art and history.  The diamonds are Old Mine cut and total approximately 0.25cttw.  They sit atop rose gold stems with leaves in green gold.  The entire piece is replete with granulation and twisted rope detail.  The locket opens in the back with an opening that hinges upward, with plenty of room for mementos or a photo.  It snaps securely shut.  The locket is not stamped but acid tests for 14k and has a higher karat bloom still visible in areas.  In terms of size, it measures about 2 7/8" in length including the bail.  It is just over 1 1/2" in width at the bottom.  The locket weighs 23.81g.  Chains are available as a separate purchase.

Exquisite French Victorian Picture Locket with Turquoise and Pearl in 18k Yellow Gold

One of the best lockets we've had, this one is fantastically crafted and beautiful. The locket features a pearl center atop an engraved and pierced oval motif, surrounded by multiple layers of bezel. The turquoise is the most impressive, hand cut and notched to fit precisely, even on the bail. The back of the locket includes a removable frame with glass that can hold a photo or small momento and the frame pops back into place. The locket features a French hallmark on the back of the bail and is crafted in 18k, weighing 17.16g. Including the bail the locket measures 2 3/8" in length and is 1 1/8" across in width. The chain is illustrative and not included.

Antique Victorian Engraved Square Picture Locket in 14k Rose Gold and Platinum

This little locket feels so good to the touch- the locket is crafted of 14k rose gold and has a platinum overlay on the back on a diagonal plane.  The front part of the locket is engraved with the letters ER and is intentionally slightly concave in its center- it is crafted this way, not dented.  The locket opens from the bottom up to reveal a framed box (no glass) for holding a picture or other sentimental momento.  The locket is heavy, weighing 8.13g.  It measures 3/4" across in width and is 1 1/8" in height including the bail. We think this is a particularly precious piece due to the square shape, the unusual platinum overlay and the nature of it's curved front.
