Exquisite Vintage Plique a Jour and Diamond Butterfly Brooch Pin in 14k Yellow Gold

This lovely butterfly features extremely detailed plique a jour enameling- meaning 'letting in the daylight'- of a monarch butterfly.  The piece is highlighted by round brilliant cut and single cut diamonds for the body.  The total diamond weight is approximately 0.12cttw.  Her wings move just a little- more on one side for unknown reasons.  The detail work here is tremendous.  The butterfly measures 1 3/4" in wingspan at the top.  From antennae to tail she is 1 3/8".  The pin mechanism works and locks securely.  This sweet girl is crafted in 14k- not stamped but acid tested- and weighs 13.04g.
